There was no way to smoke real flower from a cartridge. Oil carts existed. Dry-herb vaporizers existed. A cartridge that holds whole flower and actually combusts it into smoke did not. FLWRCRT is that device — built by the founders of DynaVap and Solopipe, and now in market.
Here's how it happened, and why.
Started by the founders of DynaVap and Solopipe
FLWRCRT is a new category of smoking device, started by the founders of two previous new categories of smoking devices.
Gary Bryman had built Solopipe — the first self-igniting pipe, a device that put a refillable lighter inside a smoking pipe so you never needed a separate flame. Gary's background is in content and creative production, including work at Disney — but the question that started Solopipe was simple: why doesn't someone build a pipe that lights itself? That question became a product, and the product built a company.
Nearly twenty years later, Gary had another question — a similar one, pointed somewhere new: why doesn't someone build an electric joint?
He brought it to George Breiwa. George is the founder of DynaVap — a company that makes battery-free vaporizers, built around thermal extraction and in-house manufacturing. George had spent years engineering devices that deliver flower through heat, and he'd built DynaVap into a multiple-time Inc. 5000 company with hardware patents across roughly 14 countries. If anyone was going to take the question seriously, it was George.
George took it seriously. He sketched something on a napkin. The napkin became a prototype. The prototype became FLWRCRT.
What they built, and why
The cannabis market had a gap that was easy to describe and hard to fill.
Carts won on convenience. Screw one onto a battery, press a button, done — no grinding, no packing, no lighter, no smell. That convenience moved an enormous share of the market to oil. But the move came with a trade: you gave up flower. The actual plant, the terpenes, the full compound profile, the taste of the real thing — all replaced by a tank of distillate built mostly around THC.
For a lot of people, that trade was fine. For a lot of others, it wasn't — they just didn't have an alternative. Flower still required the whole ritual: the grinder, the tray, the piece, the lighter, the place that could handle it. So they kept hitting the cart, kept missing the flower, and kept waiting for something that didn't make them choose.
FLWRCRT is what George and Gary built to close that gap. A 510-thread cartridge — the same connection every cart battery uses — that holds whole flower instead of oil, and combusts it through an electric coil into real smoke. Not vapor. Not an extract. The actual plant, in the format the cart made convenient.
You load it yourself with your own flower. You press a button on your own 510 battery. The FLWRCOIL igniter cap brings the flower to combustion. Real smoke, real flower, no flame.
Where it stands now
FLWRCRT is available now at flwrcrt.com, and coming soon to smoke shops nationwide. The device comes empty. You bring your own strain, from wherever you buy it. The cartridge is refillable: load, smoke, empty, reload. It works with any standard button-activated 510-thread battery in the 3.5V–4.5V range. You probably already own one.
Why it's called FLWRCRT
Gary and George coined the term "flower cartridge," for a cart that holds real flower, not oil. Real flower. Real smoke. Cart convenience. FLWRCRT is the product, and the brand.
